Sunday Funday: Tamarindo’s Social Pool Crawl
Sunday Funday is Tamarindo’s original beach and pool crawl — a weekly, all-afternoon party that hops three of the best pools and beach bars along Costa Rica’s Guanacaste coast. Meet in Tamarindo, climb aboard, and spend the day with a welcome drink at every stop, pool and beach games, happy-hour specials, and a sunset bonfire to close it out. It’s the easiest way to see the coast’s best spots in one go — great music, great people, and a crew that handles the driving so you don’t have to.
How Sunday Funday Works
Meeting Point: Noon in central Tamarindo — the bus rolls out at 1:00 PM
1st Stop — Hemingways (Playa Potrero): We kick things off with a short party ride up the coast to Hemingways, a beachfront restaurant with a pool. The menu runs from tacos to fresh seafood and wood-fired pizza — this is where we get the party started.
2nd Stop — Dunama (Playa Flamingo): Next is Dunama, perched above Playa Flamingo with a luxurious pool and breathtaking views of the Guanacaste coastline. Meet travelers from all over the world, relax, and jump into our pool games.
3rd Stop — Las Brisas (Playa Potrero): We finish where the party really peaks, at Las Brisas — a legendary local hangout on the black-sand beach of Playa Potrero. Catch a stunning Pacific sunset, then a dance party and beach bonfire to close out the day.
After 8 PM — Optional After-Party: The crawl wraps around 8 PM, and from there you’re welcome to keep the night going at Club 41’s optional after-party — their own welcome shot and dance classes, totally voluntary.
Meeting point and stops may change due to availability, closures, and private events.
Cancellation Policy
- Cancel free of charge up to 48 hours before the tour starts.
- Cancellations within 48 hours of the start time are subject to a 100% charge — extreme cases are considered individually.
- Because Sunday Funday needs a minimum of 15 guests to run, you’re covered the other way too: if the tour doesn’t fill, you’re refunded in full and never charged for a crawl that doesn’t go.
- Private Crawls can be cancelled up to 7 days in advance at no charge; cancellations after that are subject to a 100% charge.
Special Notes
- The crawl runs rain or shine — a little rain doesn’t stop the party, and the pools and beach clubs are just as fun under a tropical shower.
- If the weather turns genuinely severe, we may cancel for safety. In that case you’ll get a full refund or can reschedule for another Sunday — your call.
- Costa Rica’s green season (roughly May–November) brings warm afternoon rain that usually passes quickly, so crawls run as normal in all but the worst conditions.
